Mai Day Spa Ponsonby has joined the Living Wage movement, recently receiving accreditation from Living Wage Aotearoa, and leading a push for better conditions in the beauty and day spa sector.
We'd heard anecdotes, and had some personal experience, of day spa and massage operations with a revolving door of vulnerable migrant workers. We felt we could do better. So we set ourselves the objective of becoming not just a fair minimum wage employer, but upping our game to pay our staff the Living Wage rate or better.
We think it’s better for our business, and better for everyone, when people can afford the necessities of life - and the odd indulgence!
